MATHematics MAGnificationS™
We will present, as we compose them, very short books on math, statistics, and physics called
"Math Magnifications." The "magnification" refers to focusing on a particular topic that is pivotal
in or emblematic of mathematics.

|
We will focus on subjects that either
|
- are often missed or pointlessly delayed in traditional math curricula; or
- deserve special attention or an informal motivational introduction because they are both pivotal and deep; or
- might be of interest, because they are emblematic, challenge intuition, are deep and unifying,
simplify previously difficult or byzantine formulations, or are otherwise intellectually
stimulating; or
- will give students a better picture of the breadth of math.
