Dr. and Mrs. Ralph deLaubenfels formed Teacher-Scholar Institute in 2009. The designation
"teacher-scholar" reflects the belief that teaching and research (in the subject matter being taught -
not "education research") are symbiotic. This is particularly true in mathematics, since the primary purpose
of mathematics research is expository: clarification, unification, and simplification.
